John Deere memorabilia conference slated for March 16-17

John Deere will host its sixth memorabilia conference on March 16-17, at the Radisson Quad City Plaza in Davenport, Iowa. As in previous years, the conference is expected to draw hundreds of John Deere enthusiasts from around the region to learn more about the hobby of collecting which continues to grow in popularity.

The two-day event will showcase a variety of memorabilia interests. Special guests will conduct seminars on several collecting niches including John Deere’s deer; construction during the time of Charles Deere and Charles Deere Wiman; Deere in art; and John Deere employee service awards and gifts. Speakers will also discuss life on the John Deere as a master blacksmith and Vindex toy collecting. Finally, true enthusiasts will be put to the test with a John Deere trivia challenge.

The memorabilia conference is free and open to the public. The conference will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 16 and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 17. In addition to seminars and speakers, the memorabilia conference will feature a number of vendors selling John Deere collectible items, including books, catalogues, promotional items, advertisements, signs, trinkets, tools, and other items. Vendor registration is $20 per table and space is limited.

The memorabilia conference will be held prior to the Gathering of the Green, a biennial event for John Deere two-cylinder and new generation tractor enthusiasts and collectors which is slated for March 17-20, also in Davenport at the River Center.
