Badgerland Financial offering $1,000 scholarships
Badgerland Financial announced that it will award up to twenty $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors interested in pursuing postsecondary studies in agriculture or an agriculture-related field.
“Badgerland Financial recognizes the dynamic role agriculture plays in our local economy,” says Diane Cole, CEO. “This scholarship program is a way to help deserving students open the doors of opportunity in continuing their education. We are pleased to support the agricultural leaders of tomorrow.”
Requirements include that an applicant must live within the 33-county area served by Badgerland Financial and be a graduating high school senior pursuing their interest and studies in an agriculture-related field at a short course, technical school or college. Applications must be postmarked by Monday, March 1, 2010. Payment will be made after Badgerland Financial receives proof of completion of the first semester.
Applications are available for download at www.badgerlandfinancial.com or upon request from any Badgerland Financial office. Office locations include: Arcadia, Beaver Dam, Black River Falls, Baraboo, Burlington, Chilton, Darlington, Dodgeville, Fond du Lac, Janesville, Lancaster, Madison, Mondovi, Mt. Horeb, Plymouth, Richland Center, Sparta, Viroqua and Watertown.
Applications will also be sent to area high schools and may be obtained from agriculture instructors or guidance counselors.
