More than 1,000 cattle were sold at auction in Aberdeen after a bank foreclosed on a farm near Roscoe.
The sale at Hub City Livestock Auction took place Friday, March 5.
The cattle were taken on behalf of Plains Commerce Bank of Aberdeen on Wednesday and Thursday as part of a foreclosure action against Gilbert Vilhauer’s farm and feedlot operation.
Vilhauer says he thinks the dispute involving about $2.9 million could have been resolved a different way.
Bank attorney Bill Sauck says the bank wanted to work with the Vilhauers but mediation in the case did not work out.
